Warren Byrd, DDS

Dr. Warren Byrd grew up in New Bern, NC, and went to Chapel Hill for his bachelor’s education at the University of North Carolina (UNC). He received his degree in public health from Gillings School of Global Public Health, which has consistently ranked among the top public health schools in the nation. Dr. Byrd developed an interest in clinical dentistry after volunteering at a free dental clinic held at his hometown church. He then spent two years assisting with research studies at the UNC prosthodontics department, where he co-authored multiple publications on biomarkers for disease and dental implant protocols and technology.

Dr. Byrd married his high school sweetheart (also a Tar Heel) and earned his Doctorate in Dental Surgery at UNC. During school, he continued to be involved in dental research, and he also served as president of his school’s American Student Dental Association chapter. Dr. Byrd pursued advanced dental education at a highly sought-after VA hospital residency program in Fayetteville, NC. While there, he received advanced training in comprehensive dentistry and dental implant surgery.

Dr. Byrd is thrilled to have the opportunity to care for the Garner community following the retirement of Dr. Cindy Walker. He is passionate about helping all of his patients feel comfortable in the dental chair and in working with them to gain confidence in their smiles and oral health.

Outside of helping patients, Dr. Byrd enjoys spending time with his wife, as well as cycling, playing tennis, and playing guitar.
